What's in Our Emails?
Monthly Speaker Night Invitation - The Society hosts a Speaker Night presentation, on the third Thursday of every month, at 7:00 pm, in the Ryosa Hall of Sierra Presbyterian Church,
located at 175 Ridge Rd, Nevada City. These fun and entertaining presentations, given by experts on local or California history, provide a deeper look at particular historical topics in and around Nevada County.
Nevada County Historical Landmarks Commission Plaque Dedications - Every month or so, the Landmarks Commission adds another plaque honoring Nevada County history.
These landmarks help promote local history through official recognition, recording, marking, preserving and promoting the historical resources of Nevada County.
Behind the Scenes Tours and Field Trips - Through the Historical Soecity and other groups, explore more deeply Nevada County's rich history.
Past events have included tours of the Nevada City courthouse, an exploration around the historic Lake Olympia and a tour of Sierra Pacific's sawmill in Lincoln.
We also like to promote local historically oriented walking tours.
